Tori White News!!!
Zest PR:
The Forces' New Sweetheart
Tori White
Sings at Battle of Britain Celebrations
To commemorate The Battle of Britain, stunning rising star Tori White will be flying into Bruntingthorpe Airfield in a 1942 Dakota plane on the 26th October, to perform her heart-warming and poignant new Poppy Appeal single, 'Please Remember'.
Decked out in a 1940s forces uniform, Midland's girl Tori will be transporting us back to Wartime Britain in remembrance of the first major battle to be fought entirely by our air force - a battle which symbolised the failure of Nazi Germany's ambition to destroy the British spirit.
Tori will take to the skies from Collingby in Yorkshire along with members of a BBC television crew, who will be filming the journey from the York base to the Midlands celebrations near Leicester. Tori will then be performing her new Poppy Appeal single at Bruntingthorpe RAF base for the largest of the commemorative ceremonies for The Battle of Britain.
It's not everyday an unknown, albeit tremendously talented singer, gets the opportunity to showcase themselves to the nation, but the beautiful and incredibly unique Tori White will also be performing "Please Remember" to an audience of millions at The Royal Albert Hall for The Festival of Remembrance on the 10th November.
Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire is the home of the Cold War jet collection, the most famous being the Vulcan bomber which has recently been flown for the first time in 20 years – Tori's performance will take place in the hangar that has housed this symbol of British resilience for generations.
Tori White's new single "Please Remember" is released on the 29th October. All proceeds will be donated to the Poppy Appea

English Rose of Song Set for Trailblazing Career!
English Rose of Song Set for Trailblazing Career!
For her debut major performance, glamorous new popstress Tori White will perform live to the nation on the BBC at the The Royal Albert Hall on November 10th in front of the Queen as well as other royal and very special guests.
Tori is a performer of a revered musical standing set to take Victoria Hart’s place, (the teenager whom George Clooney recently helped achieve a multi-million pound record deal) as the latest 'Vocaltech' music academy graduate to be singled out for excellence.
Tori went for an audition in January 2006 to enroll for the Vocal diploma course - after hearing her sing she was instantly elevated to the Master Diploma by course tutors. She was the youngest of five vocalist selected to undertake the Master Diploma by 5 years, and achieved the highest grades for her six showcases.
It was Tori's unique vocal delivery that first caught the attention of producer legend Jim Dooley. Front man of one of the world's most successful bands 'The Dooleys', Jim’s involvement happened upon a chance meeting with Tori’s father at a hotel. Jim said:
"He mentioned his daughter was a singer and gave me her demo, I was blown away and agreed to be her executive producer. I played her music to a number of leading figures - including Dan Saxon and Mark James, the producers behind Simply Red. They knew she was an amazing talent and we started working on an incredible debut album, now we are about to unleash Britain's biggest new pop star in decades”.
BBC producers were so moved with one of Tori's tracks that it was selected for this year's Festival of Remembrance - It has subsequently been chosen as the official record for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2007.
Tori's impending release has created a massive stir, and with such anticipation from industry and public alike, she bares a weight of expectation and is keen to live up to the hype. With her a vibrant blend of soulful ballads, power-pop and R'n'B hooks she is sure to do just that. Her heartfelt and meaningful songs are appealable to a wide-spanning mainstream audience and fans of all ages - and what greater platform could there be to officially launch this perpetually rising star than The Royal Albert Hall?

The White Stripes
ICKY THUMP Available on special offer on www.mbopmegastore.com
The White Stripes
The White Stripes are one of the most influential and respected groups of recent times, with Jack White in particular a driving force in modern rock music. When The White Stripes released their first album, the garage rock The White Stripes, mainstream success was not an obvious route. Hailing from Detroit, they were one of a collection of bands who re-imagined rock from the dull corporate offerings offered elsewhere to a new type of raw, bluesy rock and roll. Harking back to the blues offerings of Howling Wolf and Robert Johnson, taking in the Punk noise of The Stooges and The Ramones, and looking forward to the bedrooms and dancefloors of the disaffected youth, The White Stripes tore a strip off the mild-mannered groups of the time and started a resurgence of real, back-to-basics rock and roll.
The White Stripes, however, are more than just a blistering rock band, they have a carefully cultivated image and ethos. With their colour scheme of red, white and black they are instantly recognisable, and Jack’s obsession with the number 3 informs most of their artwork and album sleeves. Every part of their image is carefully controlled, even down to the personal relationship between them. For most of the band’s early career they claimed to be brother and sister, and even when divorce papers were unearthed by zealous fans they upheld the pretence. This has become such a well-loved affectation that Jack’s introduction of “his little sister” during live shows is greeted by cheers of acknowledgement. Indeed, the many “in-jokes” by the White Stripes only endear the band further to their fans.
Whilst The White Stripes was very raw, to the point of sacrificing melody, at times, to the primitive rock and roll noise, the second album, De Stijl, was beginning to employ some of the sophisticated songwriting Jack White is now celebrated for. De Stijl also showed some of the ethos of packaging and design that The White Stripes have been constantly developing. Named after a Dutch art movement, and featuring De Stijl are on the cover, the album was recorded on an 8-track recorder in Jack’s bedroom, an approach he said was inspired by the De Stijl movement itself.
Critical success first came their way with the release of their first major label album White Blood Cells. First released in 2001 on Sympathy for the Record Industry and then re-released in 2002 on V2, this garnered critical acclaim in both the UK and America. The 2nd single of this album, Fell in love with a girl brought The White Stripes their first taste of mainstream success as it hit number 21, and they have rarely been out of the public consciousness since.
Building on this success, their next album, Elephant, was hailed as an instant classic and shot to number 1 in the UK chart. The first single, Seven Nation Army, won a Grammy for Best Rock Song and was a constant feature of playlists worldwide. This album was the first time that Jack White had allowed himself the luxury of guitar solos, and the effect was instant. Liberating himself as a guitarist, he was acclaimed by the NME as the 17th best guitarist ever, and it gave The White Stripes an extra dimension that took Elephant to the next level. Even now, 4 years later, Seven Nation Army is still the most recognisable song of their repertoire and is played in clubs every night. It was a massive crossover song, achieving success both with rock and dance audiences.
They have since released two other albums. The first, Get Behind Me Satan, featured another big crossover single in the form of Blue Orchid. This again featured a stomping bass line with Jack White’s signature guitar solo’s creating an impressive wall of noise that was as much dance as it was rock. Whilst this album wasn’t as much of a commercial success as Elephant it kept up The White Stripe’s high standards.
Their most recent album, 2007’s Icky Thump, gave The White Stripes their second number 1 album, and their highest singles chart position so far, the number 2 single Icky Thump. This is another blistering rock and roll assault, and shows a development of their blues sound by introducing more technical levels of production that had previously been hidden on their earlier works.
Whilst Jack and Meg are self confessed vinyl junkies, and have released many obscure and interesting items. Jack commissioned a Triple Inchaphone player to be made, which was a record player specially designed to play 3” White Stripes singles, mostly made available to fans or by personal application to Jack himself. In spite of this, they are still very forward thinking, and embrace the digital realm completely. They often give out teasers of songs, and are more than happy to have videos online. In an interesting side-project, Aluminium, Jack released some solo recordings, only 4000 of which are available in a physical format. Whether his intention was to highlight the new digital age is debateable, but this has been a side-effect, and where Jack White goes many follow, so maybe this is a portent of things to come.

The Beatles
No one could foresee the movement that was 'The Beatles'
The Beatles influence in Music is endless. Their contribution to Music continues on through generations gaining millions of fans along the way. As their influence is still so apparent in much of today's music, re-inventing Pop culture not only influencing rock but across the board of music genres everywhere.
The amazing story of The Beetles began in the English City of Liverpool, where in the mid 1950s John Lennon formed a group called 'Quarry Men' performing at venues across Liverpool; his journey would take him on a journey of new friends and partnerships that changed the music world. First call of coincidence or fait was in 1957 when he met Paul McCartney, a talented guitarist who would later introduce John to his young friend George Harrison who also played the guitar. With members coming and going and several name changes finally they settled for the name 'The Beatles'. Working their way up the Club Ladder, in 1960, whilst playing different venues they met a talented young drummer called Richard Starky (Ringo Star) who would occasionally play with the band eventually joining them full time.
It was the release of their first single "Love Me Do" on October 5, 1962 that began the revolution that was Beatle-mania. February saw the recording of their first album, and a month later their title single 'Please Please Me' went to number 1 on the melody maker chart and the album reached the top spot.
Hit after hit, girls screaming and fainting, fans went crazy for the Band. Considered leader of the 'British Invasion' and successfully cracking the States, with their hit "I want to hold your hand" reaching number 1 in the American charts, The Beatles achieved what no other had at the time. Performing for the Queen of England at top London venues, the group could do no wrong. Album after album saw the group into the history books, recorded as the best-selling musical act of all time in the United States of America, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, and in 2004 Rolling Stones Magazines voted them No1 on the 100 Greatest Artists of all time list.
In 1969 John Lennon quit the band leading to the split of The Beatles and solo projects by Paul and George. Their mark on music has never faded. The UK saw The Beatles release over 40 different singles and albums that reached the number 1 spot in the charts, their record company EMI suggested that by 1985 they had sold over 1 Billion discs and tapes and in 1988 The Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Everything from Indie bands to R&B artists, not to mention recent British artists like Oasis and The Verve priding their inspiration on The Beatles style.
The Beatles have evolved and re-invented music, developed genres and inspired musicians all over the world. Mbop has exclusive access to rarely seen footage of The Beatles at key events and performances in their career, as well as holiday and tour footage, some will be available as documentary style full length downloads, as well as shorter performance video downloads. All this and more is available at www.mbopmegastore.com
