Anne Murray: "A Song For David"

Anne Murray’s album ‘A Song For David’ is available to download on the MBOP megastore right now.

The Canadian Grammy Award Winning singer collects her favourite 10 songs from her extensive discography, most notably from her debut release ‘What About Me’ (1968).

Anne Murray began her professional singing career in the 60’s whilst studying at the University of Brunswick in Canada. She was hired to sing at the Curling Club in Fredericton, and was fittingly paid $30 for her performance.

Since her early career, Anne Murray has sold over 50 million copies of her songs, 32 studio albums, 15 compilation albums, 15 of which, have gone multi-platinum, platinum or gold.

She is also the first Canadian female solo singer to reach number one in the US charts, and with the release of her 1984 album “A Little Good News”, she was awarded ‘Album of the Year’ at the Country Music Associaiation Awards.

Anne Murray had one of the best voices of her generation. I have been a fan since the mid 70s. If you are interested, her album/CD "Annie" from the early 70s is one of her best.
